As a landscape photographer enchanted by the Canadian wilderness, Shangri-La Oceanfront Vacation Home on Pender Island proved to be a hidden gem in Canada's Gulf Islands National Park Reserve. The breathtaking 360-degree views from the highest point of the island provided a paradise for nature lovers like me, offering numerous lakes, mountains, and lush forested hills to explore.Each suite at the Shangri-La offered its own deck overlooking the ocean, where my partner and I spent evenings mesmerized by the stunning sunsets. The spacious and clean rooms, equipped with a private bathroom and kitchen facilities, ensured a comfortable and relaxing stay. We particularly enjoyed the communal kitchen, where we connected with other travelers while preparing our meals.Despite the lack of hot tubs, the peaceful ambiance of Shangri-La, only a short walk from Oak Bluffs Park, was a tranquil retreat for us to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature. Susan, our attentive host, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable, even helping with a surprise proposal. The free WiFi and thoughtful amenities, like a seating area and balcony with mountain views, added to the charm of this unique vacation home. From star-gazing on the porch to exploring the nearby Magic Lake swimming hole, every moment was filled with serenity and natural beauty. I would highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking a deep immersion into the wonders of nature and a peaceful retreat in the heart of Pender Island.
